ALPS Table Tennis Academy has coaches of various backgrounds and experience in the table tennis scene. However, all of them have the same dedication, which is to nurture the next generation of professional table tennis players. Head Coach Profile

Tay Jit Kiat is Singapore’s youngest National Champion and former National Youth Team player. He was involved in various international competitions and was a Gold Medalist at the South East Asia Table Tennis Championship. Training and competing for many years gave him many valuable experiences that he would love to impart to his students.

His students range from beginner level to the competitive stage and most of them have achieved the podium finish under his coaching. However, no matter the skill level of a student, he is committed to reaching their full potential in this sport.

Jit Kiat is an International Table Tennis Federation certified table tennis coach and has eight years of coaching experience. He is also a coach for Raffles Institution, Raffles Junior College and Yale-NUS. Coaches Profile

Gerald Yu is a former National Team Paddler. He represented Singapore in various age groups and won numerous medals in both local and international competitions. His international achievements include:

  • Triple Champion for Asean School Games (Men’s Team, Men’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles) and achieved the SSSC Sportsboy of the Year
  • Came in 1st for the SEA Championships team event
  • Qualified for World Junior Championships and finished 10th place in the team event.

For local events, Gerald Yu won champion in the Safra, Dr Lee Bee Wah Cup, Dr Ng Eng Hen, Char Yong Top 10 and National Grand Finale competitions. With his vast knowledge and experience in the competitive field, he wishes to bring his students to greater heights.

Our Junior Coach, Tan En Hui represented Singapore to compete in different local and international competitions. She took part in local events such as the National Table Tennis Grade Finale and achieved: 

  • Gold in Women’s Doubles and Silver in Women’s Team in 2018
  • Bronze in Women’s Doubles, and Mixed Doubles in 2019. 

Regionally, she competed at the SEA Junior Championships, and have bagged a total of 5 gold medals in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, she also participated in the SEA Championships and bagged a silver and bronze medal. Being in the competitive table tennis scene, she gained wide exposure and the knowledge to train her students to excel competitively in this sport.
