Our nation’s first Singapore-born paddler, Clarence Chew, qualified to take part in the Olympic men’s singles event after defeating his team mate Koen Pang at the Asian Qualification event. Clarence Chew said, “This is my lifelong dream to qualify for the Olympics as a representative of Singapore. No words can describe what I am feeling right now! This achievement tells me that I can do absolutely anything so long as I am willing to work hard for it. I am so looking forward to the Tokyo Olympics and I promise I will make Singapore proud!”
This serves as an inspiration for the younger generation of players to dream big and with constant effort, they too can achieve their dreams. With all eyes on him and the Singapore Table Tennis team, we look forward to hearing great news in the Tokyo Olympics too!
